The famous Tren de Hershey (Hershey Train) is a genuine relic in use in Cuba. It consists of the last electric train still in use in the country, used by locals and tourists to travel from Havana to Matanzas, passing through the charming town of Hershey. It was built in 1944 and it is basically considered a museum.
Its origins date back to the last century when the famous chocolatier Hershey had it built to transport sugar from the old Hershey mill, known nowadays as Central Camilo Cienfuegos and in disuse.
Taking the Hershey Train you are able to visit the ancient Central Camilo Cienfuegos or additionally the beach, enjoying a thrilling and pleasant trip that takes you to another era.
