Also known as Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Vicente García González, this majestic Plaza de la Revolución de Las Tunas is an emblematic place for Cuban history and is undoubtedly one of the places you should not miss in the town of Las Tunas.

It is located on the slope of the Loma de Peralejo (Perallejo Hill) and was built for the celebration of great political and cultural events, from which the dissemination and promotion of local history are pursued, both to the rest of the country and abroad.

This square was inaugurated in 1997 by Fidel Castro and has three interesting differentiated areas: the area of concentration, with a capacity of 125,000 people, which has a small park to the right, dedicated to Doña Brígida Zaldívar Cisneros, who was the wife of the General, where activities are held for children from nearby schools. Secondly, in the area of the tribune, with three levels representing the three times, the city was burned. This area also shows a rich sculptural ensemble located along with a large mural 52 meters long, which presents sculpted in reddish stone the most significant historical events that the city of Las Tunas has lived from 1868 to the present. And finally, the administrative building, composed of a protocol room, two meeting rooms and the generals' lounge.
