Los Acuáticos is a small mountain population in the region of Pinar del Río, in western Cuba. The waters here are believed to have curative properties. To reach them you will have to travel a beautiful route through the green mountains that surround it.
It's a settlement located in the interior of Valle de Viñales (Viñales's valley) to which alone you will be able to access on foot or by horse. T
The village was founded in 1943 by Antoñica Izquierdo, who discovered the healing power of water due to the formidable health of the peasants living nearby. Unfortunately, the last patriarch in "water therapy" died in 2002.
The horse ride costs around 10 CUC for three hours and is worth it not only for the destination but also for the ride itself. You will be able to admire spectacular views of the Valle de Viñales.
It starts on the main road, 1 km inland until you reach the Ruta de las Aguas. In the end, you can visit the Dos Hermanas campsite and the Mural de la Prehistoria (Mural of PreHistory), which are only 3 km away.
