The Catedral de Pinar del Río (Pinar del Río Cathedral), known as Catedral de San Rosendo (San Rosendo Cathedral), is located in the centre of the city of Pinar del Río, in the island of Cuba. Admire this colonial temple adorned with beautiful stained glass windows and a large altar with golden decor.
The building dates from 1883 and is located four blocks southwest of the fábrica de Tabaco Francisco Donatien (Francisco Donatien tobacco factory). It's a fairly quiet spot during the week, but bursts with activity on Sundays when the bells ring and announce mass to the parishioners.
Here you can soak up a great deal of Cuban culture, marked by the colonial era that is still present in its elaborate design with high ceilings and wooden lamps.
