The Museo Municipal de Viñales (Municipal Museum of Viñales), located in the city of Pinar del Río, in Cuba, had been the home of the famous captain of the Cuban revolution Adela Azcuy Labrador. Today it is an interesting museum that tells the history of the valley and some of its most remarkable personalities.
The house that constitutes the museum was built in the 19th century as a colonial-style house. It has five exhibition halls, where you will find fascinating information about the natural history, rural ethnology, native fauna and social history of the island.
The museum opened its doors to the public in 1978 with two rooms dedicated exclusively to the Cuban captain. Two years later, it was enlarged and reopened in 1982 under its present name.
