The Terminal de ferrocarriles (railway station) in Morón has historically been a reference point in the communications of the province of Ciego de Ávila and Cuba. The city serves as the main railroad crossing for the entire centre of the country. It connects from Villa Clara to Camagüey and currently has the most elegant terminal among those found outside of Havana.
This iconic place was built in 1923 under a neocolonial style. Even so, the lobby has an authentic art deco appearance.
For its outstanding characteristic values, the building was awarded the National Conservation Prize in 2010.
