The Sendero La Batata (La Batata Trail) is one of the most appealing excursions you can do in the natural environment of Topes de Collantes, in the Sierra de Escambray, on your way through the province of Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. A route is full of abundant vegetation, waterfalls and caves that begins 15 km from the town of Trinidad.

The road is 6 km long between there and back, in the direction of a large cave with an underground river. The starting point begins at the bottom of the hill, where the Casa Museo del Café, is located, at a sign of the parking lot. When you reach the next road, you go around to the right side of the concrete embankment and continue downwards. From here continue straight ahead to the right of that point, avoiding secondary roads that lead to the left.

The journey will take you about one hour to go and one hour to return. When you reach your final destination, you can take a well-deserved dip in the refreshing waters of the cave.
