The Laguna Guanaroca is surrounded by lush green vegetation, a beautiful lagoon with calm waters that is a protected area, the only one in the region. It is formed by the río Arimao and flows into the bay in Cienfuegos in Cuba.
The most distinctive feature of the beautiful Laguna Guanaroca are its colonies of pink flamingos, which give color to the whole lagoon and you can see them all over the area. The largest population of this species is found here. Other migratory birds you will see are the amusing ducks. You can also see the delicate mangroves that decorate the shore.
It is also important to highlight the diverse and important archaeological sites that are found in the lagoon, among which Cayo Ocampo stands out.
