Located in a colonial house from the 19th century, the fascinating Museo Histórico Provincial in Cienfuegos shows the history of this Cuban city in a cultural and artistic way. This museum is one of the most interesting places to visit in the historical center of the city, south of Parque José Martí.

The Museo Provincial was installed in its beginnings in the old Spanish Casino, which was a National Monument and a very important part of the center of Cienfuegos. Later, in 1995, it was reopened: the items in its collections and its rooms were enlarged, containing a fascinating cultural richness and diversity of content.
Among its collections you will find the outstanding sculptures by Mateo Torriente Bécquer, considered the best artist in Cienfuegos, as well as various paintings, drawings, very important documents and interesting architectural elements.
Visit the museum and its different rooms, where each one of them will envelop you with its interesting theme: there are rooms dedicated to private collection, concerning architectural and constructive elements, others concern the ancient Cienfuegos civilizations and way of life, the culture and identity of the city... No doubt they will not leave you unmoved.
