El Yunque in Cuba is the most famous mountain in the whole of Guantánamo located in the Baracoa municipality. This 575-metre high mountain offers you the main plan of the city as well as the native flora and fauna lying on the mountain range with many characteristic species, such as Cuban trogon and Cuban emerald.

This is a fabulous place for nature and sport lovers, as the most famous tradition related to this mountain is a route consisting of going up and down the mountain, although different excursions are being organised based on the stamina or the preferences of the tourists. That is the reason why the level of conservation of this natural spot is quite high, which leads us to the fact that it was recognized as a National Monument in 1980.
