The Embalse Hanabanilla (Hanabanilla Resorvoir) is located in the Manicaragua municipality in Villa Clara, Cuba. It is the perfect place to visit for those who love outdoor activities, such as hiking and fishing. This picturesque enclave, surrounded by peaceful farms and green pastures, is just 30 minutes away from Santa Clara. It is the largest artificial lake on the island.
The reservoir’s name translates to “small golden basket”, which gives visitors an idea about the undeniable beauty of the area. There is even a tournament to catch the bass that swims in the reservoir. The Embalse Hanabanilla is also home to the largest hydroelectric plant in the country.
