The Museo Municipal María Escobar Laredo (María Escobar Laredo Municipal Museum) is located in the center of Caibarién. Housed in the majestic Liceo building, which was constructed in 1981.
This museum is the perfect place to learn about the history of the Cuban people. It is also home to the largest collection of glass negatives in all of Latin America.
The Museo Municipal María Escobar Laredo’s valuable collections of history, archaeology, and photography will transport visitors through time. These exhibitions have been visited by important Cuban figures like the Generalísimo Máximo Gómez Báez, chess player José Raúl Capablanca, and even Commander Ernesto Guevara de la Serna also known as “Che”.
