Playa Las Gaviotas (Las Gaviotas Beach) in Cayo Santa María (Saint Mary Keys) is located in the northern region of the Villa Clara province in Cuba. The beach is a protected area due to its high ecological value. However, visitors can freely access and spend the day at this spectacular beach. It is one of the two beaches in the keys that does not require spending a night in a hotel.
In order to make their way to the beach visitors will have to walk down a small path for 10-15 minutes. At the end of the path lie the white sand dunes and turquoise waters of Playa Las Gaviotas. Visitors can leave their belongings in one of the free small cabins along the beach. The cabins are free and a perfect place to rest between swims.
Playa Las Gaviotas warm crystal waters are perfect for snorkelling sessions. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful coral reefs and the marine life they’ll encounter underwater. And all you have to do to get there is cross the Pedraplén (Cayo Santa María Road) located in the city of Caibarién.
