The city of Brasil, which belongs to the province of Camagüey in Cuba, is located between Morón and Nuevitas. The local industry is mainly dedicated to agriculture, especially the cultivation of sugarcane.
The town allows access to the virgin Cayo Romano, which is the third-largest island in the archipelago. This place has recently been rediscovered by fishermen, due to its suitability for fly fishing in the marshes, lagoons and estuaries of this area of the Camaguey coast.
The fishing season starts in November and ends in August. Catching for commercial purposes is prohibited in this area.
During your stay in Brasil, you can stay at the Hotel Casona de Romano, built for a sugar merchant in 1919 and recently renovated in 2008.
