Get to know the town of Minas in Camagüey, which combines all the rough edges of Cuban mining with the finesse of the violins
The municipality of Minas has been named after the mining tradition in this area of the province of Camagüey in Cuba. It is located about 60 km northwest of the capital and also has a music instrument factory. It was founded in 1976 and is mainly specialized in the construction of stringed instruments, especially guitars and violins using local noble woods.
Another great attraction is an amazing crocodile nursery, founded in 1985 and located about 10 km to the north, where approximately 400 young crocodiles are born every year. This centre organizes different activities for groups and is a real attraction for national and international tourists.
