The Museo Histórico Municipal (Municipal Historical Museum) located in the municipality of Manzanillo, Cuba, next to Parque Céspedes, chose the home of Don Eladio Muñiz Fernández in 1976 as the main place to collect, store, conserve and exhibit everyday objects and materials showing that Manzanillo, and Granma in general, owns a history replete with nuances and remarkable episodes.
The museum comprises seven halls that follow a project undertaken by the Cultural Heritage Department comprising a chronological line that helps the visitor to understand the evolution of the history of Manzanillo in each and every stage. To make this easier the materials are categorised by colours to differentiate between a theme or a historical period.
As you can see, the entire museum is immersed in a deep symbolism thoroughly studied by the specialists.
