The Sendero Natural Arqueológico El Guafe (El Guafe Natural Archaeological Trail) is an archaeological reserve in Cuba stretching for 2 km is located within the Parque Nacional Desembarco del Granma.
Among its most significant findings are the caves used for religious ceremonies and one of the first agro-pottery communities. Although the number of history that can be unearthed is quite promising.
In this case, excavating a neatly visitable archaeological reserve in the heart of a pristine area is an achievement of the archaeologists to make a piece of Cuba’s history available to tourists and locals.
However, the fact that it is in such a characteristic area has some drawbacks, such as the big number of flies. It is recommended to bring repellent to max the experience.
