The Parque Céspedes (Céspedes Park), known as Plaza de la Revolución (Revolution Square) as well, was called like that in honour of leader of the Cuban Revolution Manuel de Céspedes. Right in the centre of Bayamo, its name has changed throughout the history of the country and got the names of Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de Isabel II and Plaza de Balmaseda.
The wide pedestrian streets surrounding the green garden and its big banks, where you can rest whilst eating something, listening to traditional music and get amazed by the sheer happiness of its citizens will call your attention. There you will find the astonishing monument in honour of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and the bust of Perucho Figueredo, two Bayamese people of renown in the whole of Cuba.
This lovely square is the favourite place of the Bayamese when it is time to organise typical festivities in the city, apart from being the ideal spot for fun at many organised open-air concerts.
Swing by this park at night and be one of the people gathered together to have fun at the Bayamese street parties.
