The Parque Nacional La Mensura - Pilotos (La Mensura National Park) has been a protected area since 2008, located in the province of Holguín, in the eastern part of Cuba. Sited at the Sierra de Nipe covering an area of 8,486 hectares.
The spot forms part of one of the protected national parks in Holguín for housing a special natural spot bound to be preserved. At it you encounter many landforms, such as the Río Piloto (Piloto River), the Loma de la Mensura (Mensura Hill) and some of the biggest waterfalls in the country that provide it with numerous ecosystems. The amazing landscape is home for many plant as well as animal species exceptionally significant due to the variety and to the fact that more than 40% of them are Cuban endemic species.
La Mensura is the perfect spot for the ones who love ecotourism, as it offers you many routes around its paths, on foot or on a horse whilst you are surrounded by the splendid whole of this remarkable place.
