The Playa Blanca (Blanca Beach) is a splendid spot to have fun in the crystal-clear waters bathing in the island of Cuba, located in the Consejo Popular (People’s Assembly) of Santa Lucía in the Rafael Freyre municipality of the Holguín province.
This beach is the entrance to the Bariay Bay, which means it is found packed between two rock sets. It is 250 metres long and 10 to 15 metres wide with absolutely white sand, although it is a bit thicker than the other beaches' sand, which is where the name comes from. Its bottom is sandy and shows quick descent which makes it pretty deep.
Apart from its lovely landscape, this beach is significant as it acted as the “port” where the men led by Christopher Columbum docked in 1492. Although this scene was so important, nowadays the most noteworthy thing you can find are the local people frequenting the area and camping as well as enjoying the views.
