The Playa Los Bajos (Los Bajos Beach) is located in the coastline of Gibara, although not actually in its bay, but about 2 km from its entrance. It consists of one of the most extraordinary beaches in the whole of Cuba, surrounded by a heavenly natural environment and with crystal-clear water that will leave everyone astounded.
Its name comes from the low depth of its waters, although this does not diminish its splendour. This landform is 245 metres long with a sand area of 20 metres wide and dunes of 1.5 metres tall that are covered by pretty and abundant seagrape. Towards the interior you may find a mangrove lagoon that during low tide unveil a big seibadal grassland and, towards the sea 100 metres deep, there is a coral reef with colourful fish protecting the area from storms.
All these natural elements make this beach an astonishing environment where turquoise tones of sea are being mixed, the whiteness of fine sand and the vivid green of the vegetation.
