The Sendero ecoarqueológico Las Guanas (Las Guanas Ecoarchaeological Route) inside the Parque Natural Bahía de Naranjo (Bahía de Naranjo Natural Park) in Holguín, Cuba, is a route that goes through an astonishing protected natural environment undergoing an ecosystem recovery process, which means that it is not permitted to make changes to the landscape.
The natural richness of the area emphasises different types of vegetation and many animal species living there. Also, more than 20 different samples of migratory birds fly all over the area, as it belongs to the Gibara corridor.
When it comes to geography, on the cliffs of this route you may observe a unique phenomenon, as on one of the cliffs you can see up to four sand cavities or overlaps in the rock belonging to different phases of oceanic level.
We are talking about a marvellous option for nature lovers in search of action and new expeditions in this lovely natural environment in the island of Cuba, getting away from the sun and beach tourism that big resorts offer you.
