The Museo Casa Natal José Antonio Echeverría (José Antonio Echeverría Birthplace Museum) in the Cuban town of Cárdenas, tells of the life and work of student leader José Antonio Echeverría, who opposed the Batista regime along with other young revolutionaries.
The museum is located in a singular two-story house built in 1873 with the abundant limestone in the region and in the buildings of the area. Its style can be considered eclectic with a neoclassical base. It features classicist elements, typical of 19th century Cuban architecture, and others of North American influence such as the spiral staircase that joins the first and second floors.
In 1971 it was declared a National Monument and two years later it opened as a history section of the Museo Oscar María de Rojas (Oscar María de Rojas Museum). In 2001, it became José Antonio Echeverría's Birthplace to dedicate itself solely to the study and dissemination of this figure.
