The balcony of Velázquez in Santiago de Cuba is one of the most famous viewpoints of this Cuban city from which it is possible to appreciate the views of the town and the coast surrounded by beautiful green mountains.
This construction with defensive objectives was created between 1538 and 1550 under the orders of Fernando de Soto, so the current attribution to the advance of Cuellar would be erroneous. Although today only this fragment of the battery that once existed remains, the balcony is a worthwhile visit especially for those who enjoy good views.
