The Fern Garden in Santiago de Cuba is a unique natural wonder of its kind in Cuba, ideal for those who seek the typical lush and green forests in Latin America.
Manuel García Caluff, inspired by the French coffee plantations, founded this majestic park in the mid-70s of the last century in which, although the jewel in the crown are the ferns due to their high number, we also have other species of plants, such as those subject to danger of extinction. In fact, it is divided into areas, one for each type. The most important room, however, is the herbarium because that is where they are all cataloged and available to anyone, whether students or tourists. All this makes it the second park with the most species in America, recognition that has been awarded with Double Excellence by urban agriculture, the science award and the provincial environmental award.
Breathing the pure and fresh air from nature in such an expressive place and under the shade of the leaves is a relaxing experience that will transport you to the most intrinsic Amazon jungle.
