Pioneros Provincial Palace located in Santiago de Cuba is the center for excellence of complementary training in Cuba, as well as the place chosen for annual festivities that recall the historical evolution of the country. What the institution intends is to enhance the meaning and value of the concept of homeland, in one way or another.
This majestic double staircase building was the home of Pepín Bosch, a well-off political figure who, although unnoticed, also contributed a little to the development of Fidel Castro's government. It opened its doors to the public, with the function that it continues to have today, in 1974 thanks to Juan Almeida Bosque, Fidel Castro's right hand man along with his brother. Today, after more than 40 years in action, the elegant rooms that once served Pepín have been restored and expanded so that people from Santiago can enjoy learning the different disciplines taught there.
Remember to book a visit to the Palace in your busy schedule and visualize for yourself how the residents of Santiago de Cuba and, in general, Cubans travel to it to learn at the same level as that of their teacher, Fidel Castro.
