The African Cultural Center "Fernando Ortiz", in Santiago de Cuba, aims to study everything related to African culture to learn even the most recondite secret of civilization from that continent that is related to Cuba and, in general, the Caribbean area.
The institution, founded in 1988, has a multitude of rooms for you to see and learn about the approximately 22 countries in which it works. Its intention is to cover a varied content, so through different subjects (history, anthropology, art, literature ...) it carries out research, analysis and interrelation tasks, and then submits the results obtained to debate in the largest congress organized here: the Workshop on Africania in the Caribbean "Ortiz-Lachatañeré" and the Conference on African and Afro-American Culture. Other activities that you can find are dance, music, theater, poetry and plastic arts classes also linked to African culture.
