The Museum of Piracy in Santiago de Cuba is a clear example that Cuba, before reaching what it is today, has been subjected to large enemy forces, not only Spanish. We are talking, indeed, of pirates who raided the coast in order to store mutiny and resources to continue enriching themselves, that was at least what happened on the island.
This museum, founded in 1978, is located precisely in what was built in its time as a fortification to spot pirates and, on occasions, also protect itself from them. Its robust walls keep numerous possessions that they carried on their ships, as well as data on transcendental figures who acted on land, such as Jacques de Sores.
