The Laguna Baconao in the Cuban province of Santiago de Cuba is a natural water reservoir located near the coast, one meter above sea level, a magnificent space to enjoy peace and nature in the beautiful Baconao Natural Park in Cuba.
The patrimonial wealth of this place is incalculable. It is a place of passage for many migratory birds that fly over the lagoon, decorating it with their colors and squawks and habitat of endemic fauna and flora, mainly amphibians, fish, reptiles and small mammals. In its 4 square meters of surface it is possible to enjoy water activities such as sport fishing and rides in boats or water bicycles, an experience that becomes unique when surrounded by such exuberant vegetation.
It is also possible to visit the recreation of a Taino village and learn a little more about the aboriginal culture of the island. All this turns the place into an original getaway in which nature will always be the protagonist.
In addition, in this place it is possible to visit a crocodile farm where approximately a dozen crocodiles are in cages along with other species such as lizards and rodents. If what you want is to enjoy wildlife in freedom, you just have to walk through the lagoon where it is possible to see wild dolphins.
