Plaza Dolores is a beautiful space in Santiago de Cuba, the second most important square in the city where you should go to soak up the atmosphere of the real Cuba, surrounded by gastronomic venues and shops that are always lively.
Although its construction began at the beginning of the seventeenth century, it would not be until 1777 when it was finished and the people of Santiago could begin to enjoy it. Through this place the different agricultural productions entered the city and it would end up becoming a market place until it was moved to the new La Concha Market in 1960.
Despite having lost its main function, this space continued to be one of the favorites of citizens who always liked to stroll and rest on the benches under the shade of the lush trees that decorate the square. This area has wonderful neoclassical and eclectic buildings, turning every night into a place full of charm where it is possible to enjoy concerts of all kinds in an unbeatable atmosphere.
