The National Botanical Garden of Cuba is aimed at showing the beautiful and diverse tropical vegetation by educating environmental values and delighting visitors with beautiful natural exhibits. It is located near the Expocuba, another place of interest in Arroyo Naranjo, a few kilometres from the city of Havana.
The garden, inaugurated in 1989 by Fidel Castro, has an extension of 600 hectares and contains more than 3,000 plant species. The exhibits are mostly divided according to geographical area and species. Thus, among those classified by zones are exhibits from South America, Oceania, Africa and other continents. On the other hand, among those classified by species, there are those of ferns, natural plants from Cuba, etc.
The Japanese Garden, the only one of its kind in Cuba, stands out, with spaces for meditation and a beautiful waterfall that relaxes the senses. Of course, everything is full of Asian vegetation, which combines perfectly with the design of this garden.
