Museo Antropológico Montané (Montané Anthropological Museum) is one of the two museums found at the University of Havana in Vedado. The museum, located in the Faculty of Biology, is dedicated to Cuban Doctor Luis Montané Dardé.
Founded in 1903, the museum is home to several collections of shells, stones, axes, and other objects used by the Cuban natives before the arrival of the Spanish on the island. Among these pieces are two works of the highest value: The Ídolo del Tabaco (Idol of Tobacco), a wooden figure found on the eastern part of the island, and the Ídolo de Bayamo (Bayamo Idol), a stone sculpture from the 19th century. The Bayamo Idol is one of the largest stone sculptures in all the Caribbean.
