The El Museo de Historia Natural Felipe Poey (Felipe Poey Museum of Natural History) was founded in 1874 by the Royal Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural sciences thus making it the oldest museum in Cuba. You can find the museum in the Faculty of Biology inside the campus of the University of Havana, in the Vedado neighbourhood.
On display, collections of mollusks, insects, and fossils all of which are considered cultural patrimony. You can also find some of the scientist's personal objects and books on display. This extensive collection’s outstanding conservation has made it one with great economic and historical value.
