Inside the old palace of the Countess of Revilla de Camargo in the Vedado neighbourhood of Havana is the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (National Museum of Decorative Arts). In this majestic building lies Cuban artwork worth visiting during your trip.
The palace was built in the early 20th century and after the Cuban revolution, it was repurposed into the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas that we are able to visit today. Besides enjoying various artistic masterpieces inside the museum, you can also spot some of the luxuries that were once the Countess’.
The museum houses more than 30,000 works of art: pieces from the reigns of Napoleon II, Louis XV, Louis XVI, oriental pieces, French and Chinese furniture, Chinese, French, English, and Japanese metalwork, and a beautiful collection of Chinese and French fans.
A stroll through this museum is like taking a journey through time. Surround yourself with history and cosy gardens decorated with Italian marble sculptures.
The museum offers guided tours, specialized consultation, and a library that organizes cultural animation activities for kids.
